Ole Miss knew it would fall in Tuesday night’s College Football Playoff Top 25 following its 30-0 loss to Arkansas in Fayetteville, but it remained a mystery just how far the CFP selection committee would drop the Rebels.

As it turns out, the Rebels fell further than any other team in the nation in this week’s poll, dropping 11 spots to No. 19 in this week’s rankings. The Rebels were the highest-ranked two-loss team in last week’s poll, but now sit behind two other three-loss teams in this week’s rankings (Auburn and Minnesota).

Ole Miss is one of six SEC teams ranked in this week’s CFP Top 25, including two SEC teams ranked in the top 4 spots that will go to the selection committee’s four playoff teams at season’s end. Alabama remained the selection committee’s No. 1 team following a win over Western Carolina, and Mississippi State maintained its standing at No. 4 in the poll.

Oregon and Florida State join the Bulldogs and the Tide in this week’s top 4.

No. 9 Georgia, No. 15 Auburn and No. 17 Missouri were the other SEC teams included in this week’s rankings.
