The biggest get to date of the Matt Luke era at Ole Miss on the recruiting trail was undoubtedly the late flip of California quarterback prospect Matt Corral from Florida. Corral is currently the highest ranked 2018 prospect the Rebels have signed and he represented the school well at the 2018 U.S. Army All American Game.

Based on the attributes the Long Beach native possesses, according to ESPN college football analyst Tom Luginbill, there’s an outstanding chance Corral sees the field for the Rebels in 2018.

While Ole Miss does have the emerging Jordan Ta’amu on the roster, it would be unwise for the coaching staff to not give Corral every opportunity to push the rising senior for playing time. Even if Ta’amu beats Corral out, looking ahead to 2019, Corral could benefit from seeing the field early in his college career.
