Matt Corral has been committed to Florida since July, but the coaching change from Jim McElwain to Dan Mullen has caused the California quarterback to at least think about opening up his college choice.

In fact, Corral visited Oxford last weekend after an in-home visit from Ole Miss offensive coordinator Phil Longo.

Now a report from Derrell Hart Jr. of Rebels 247 suggests that Ole Miss is “gathering momentum” with Corral’s recruitment. Corral is the third-ranked pro-style QB in this class, and has long been a key piece of the Gators’ class. During the coaching transition, he even said “nothing is changing this class.”

Corral’s visit coincided with Ole Miss wide receiver commit DeMarkus Lodge, who appeared to enjoy his time with Corral.

While the momentum has shifted in Ole Miss’ favor, in part because Mullen didn’t visit him until this past weekend, Corral is expected to be in Gainesville this weekend, which could signal which direction he’s leaning.

Corral earlier visited Alabama in part because of his impressions of offensive coordinator Brian Daboll at The Opening Finals.
