Via a report from The Clarion-Ledger, Ole Miss AD Ross Bjork has received a contract extension — keeping him in Oxford through June of 2020.

He was also named Vice Chancellor for Intercollegiate Athletics. This title was approved by the Board of Trustees of the IHL on Thursday.

With Bjork as the athletic director, programs have enjoyed good success. The football team has gone to a bowl every year since he came on in 2012. This includes a Sugar Bowl win last year. The baseball team made the College World Series two years ago, and the basketball squad has made the NCAA Tournament two times.

More than $100 million has been raised under Bjork’s guidance. This has enabled the university to renovate Vaught-Hemingway Stadium and construct ‘The Pavilion’ — a multi-purpose arena on campus.

Ole Miss Chancellor Jeffrey Vitter had this to say about Bjork:

“The success of our athletics program is unprecedented and is directly attributable to Ross’ leadership. Naming him as the vice chancellor for intercollegiate athletics will continue that momentum. I expect under Ross’ leadership that athletics will continue to be an integral part of our growth and increased visibility.”
