Ole Miss lost its defensive line coach Chris Kiffin recently — as Kiffin decided to join brother Lane as the new defensive coordinator at FAU.

In search of a new defensive line coach, Hugh Freeze turned to a familiar face.

According to a report from Football Scoop, Freeze has hired North Carolina defensive line coach Tray Scott to the same position.

Scott is an alum of Arkansas State. When his playing days ended, he became a graduate assistant. While Freeze was the head coach in Jonesboro, he employed Scott as an assistant coach — before bringing him to Ole Miss.

Scott then got a job at UT-Martin before resurfacing the last two seasons in Chapel Hill. Known as an energetic coach, he appears to be a great fit in Oxford.
