The Dallas Cowboys have never shied away from swimming against the current, and they may have done just that in selecting Florida offensive tackle Chaz Green with the 91st overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft, the 27th pick in the third round.

Green was one of four Gators offensive linemen invited to the NFL Combine in February, and he was the second to go off the board following D.J. Humphries, who went 24th overall in the first round to Arizona.

Green was projected as a mid-to-late round pick, but went in the final 10 picks on Night 2 as the first Gator selected on the night and the third drafted overall (Humphries and Dante Fowler).

He’s also the 21st SEC player taken overall, the fifth in the third round and the 14th on Night 2.
