Former Ole Miss LB Denzel Nkemdiche is making headlines for a radio interview, and he didn’t say a word.

Nkemdiche was on the line for an afternoon interview on “Head to Head” with Matt Wyatt and Richard Cross on Super Talk Mississippi, but apparently fell asleep while waiting for his segment. When the show went to Nkemdiche on the phones, he can be heard snoring.

Audio of Nkemdiche’s segment can be heard here.

While Nkemdiche was breathing into the phone, the hosts were speechless. They came to the conclusion that he fell asleep. The hosts explained that he’s in the process of launching a music career, and he was willing to discuss that on the air.

“I swear on my life I think he fell asleep,” one host said.

When the call was made to Nkemdiche, the producer said he responded and said he was “ready to roll.” Not 20 seconds later, Nkemdiche was asleep on the phone.

You can listen to the two hosts discussing how the call was set up in this audio.

The older brother and former teammate of NFL defensive lineman Robert Nkemdiche recently discussed his career at Ole Miss and pursuit of a career in music on a Rebels podcast. His appearance made some headlines for what he revealed about his time in Oxford.
