Deshazor Everett is in a hospital following a fatal wreck Thursday night, according to the Loudoun County (Virginia) Sheriff’s Office.

Multiple reports suggest that Everett is in the hospital with “serious but non-life threatening injuries.” The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Everett was driving with one passenger when the car ran off the road and struck several trees, flipped, then came to a stop.

The Washington Football Team released a statement about the incident and confirmed that a passenger in Everett’s car passed away. The team has alerted the NFL, and is working with local authorities about the incident.
