Keanu Neal, a Florida native and former Gator, is headed back to the Sunshine State. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced the signing of Neal on Wednesday.

Neal will be returning to the familiar position of safety. Last year with the Dallas Cowboys, Neal moved to linebacker. Out of South Sumter High School, Neal was a 4-star safety recruit in the class of 2013. He played safety at Florida for 3 seasons (2013-15) before declaring for the 2016 NFL Draft. The Atlanta Falcons selected Neal with the No. 17 overall pick.

Neal spent his first 5 NFL seasons with the Falcons. He was named to the Pro Football Writers Association’s All-Rookie Team in 2016 and selected to the Pro Bowl in 2017. Over 6 seasons, Neal has played in 63 games, missing significant time with a torn ACL in 2018 and torn Achilles tendon in 2019. Neal has 410 total tackles in his professional career.
