Lester Cotton may not have been selected in the 2019 NFL Draft but he will have his chance to earn his way onto a professional roster after signing a free agent deal with the Raiders.

Oakland announced the signing of Cotton, along with nine other rookie free agents, on Friday.

The Tuscaloosa native started 10 games for Alabama during his senior season and 28 games during his four-year career for the Crimson Tide. A consistent performer on one of the nation’s best offensive lines, Cotton came off the bench and remained on the field during Alabama’s 2018 SEC Championship appearance against Georgia, which landed him back on the team’s starting lineup for the Playoff games against Oklahoma and Clemson.

Cotton was an Under Armour All-American in 2015 coming out of Central High School in Tuscaloosa and signed with Alabama over Auburn, USC, Mississippi State and Ole Miss.
