Leonard Fournette was out on Sunday, so the Jacksonville Jaguars counted on T.J. Yeldon to anchor their running game. And the former Alabama back delivered.

Yeldon rushed for 53 yards on 10 carries and had eight receptions for 69 yards and a touchdown in a 30-14 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Blake Bortles connected with Yeldon for a 14-yard touchdown in the third quarter.

Through five games, Yeldon has 205 rushing yards, 125 receiving yards and three total touchdowns.

Yeldon is in his fourth season in the NFL, all with Jacksonville. He was selected by the Jaguars in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft.

Jacksonville has relied on Yeldon with Fournette out. Fournette has played in only two games due to a hamstring injury.

If Fournette doesn’t return next week, then Yeldon will likely again have a heavy workload. The Jaguars travel to play the Dallas Cowboys next Sunday.
