Leonard Fournette wreaked all kinds of havoc against Auburn’s defense last season.

Fournette ran for an incredible 228 yards and three touchdowns as the Tigers destroyed Auburn in Baton Rouge 45-21.

While Fournette was gashing the Tigers’ defense, two plays stood out: Rudy Ford’s decision to pull up against Fournette on a would-be tackle and Tray Matthew’s high-flying attempt that, uh, didn’t go so well.

Here’s the video to refresh your memory of Matthews’ attempt (third play in the following highlights).

Matthews was asked about that attempt Friday, and he called his attempt a “business decision.”

Here are Matthews full quotes, according to 247Sports.

“That’s not me at all,” he said. “When I was going in — and that was my first game back from popping my shoulder out of place — actually didn’t hit that whole week and I ain’t gonna lie that was probably the worst feeling I ever had in my life when I popped my shoulder out of place. Going into that game, I really didn’t know what I was going to do. I saw him coming and I was, like, it was kinda like a business decision because I didn’t want to pop my shoulder all the way out of place and miss the whole season. I was like, OK, let me hit him up high and try to grab him and bring him down. I actually jumped too high. My adrenaline was running.”

Matthews underwent shoulder surgery this offseason to repair torn labrums in both shoulders.

Still, I bet Will Muschamp had a field day with both Ford and Matthews after the LSU game last year. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall in that meeting room.
