DBU added a second first-round pick Thursday night.

Buffalo selected LSU cornerback Tre’Davious White No. 27 overall in the NFL Draft. Teammate Jamal Adams went No. 6 to the Jets. He’s the third Tiger taken in the first round.

LSU is known for producing elite defensive backs, and White is another one who should have a good NFL career. Despite LSU’s stacked defensive back depth chart, White broke into the starting lineup as a freshman in 2013, and ever since then, White’s been a staple in the Tigers’ defensive backfield.

The four-year starter elected to return for his senior season in 2016, and he became a Walter Camp All-American. The Tigers rewarded White with the No. 18 uniform for his senior season, a tradition that describes the epitome of being an LSU football player.

White finished his LSU career playing in 49 games, making 47 starts. He recorded an impressive 167 tackles, 11.0 tackles for loss, 34 pass breakups and six INTs during his career. White was comfortable playing on an island at LSU, and he looks more than comfortable doing so at the next level.

Although White has been criticized for lacking physicality in the running game, he’ll make up for it in coverage, and he’ll compete for a starting job right away.

The Shreveport, La., native came to LSU as a four-star prospect, the No. 55 overall player, the No. 7 cornerback and the state’s No. 1 overall prospect in the class of 2013.
