Former Auburn OL Will Adams graduated in December, and decided that 2015 would be his final season with the Tigers.

The next phase of his football career is going down in Idaho, where he’s pursuing an MBA at Boise State.

Due to the NCAA’s graduate transfer rules, he’s already practicing with the Broncos and will be eligible to play this fall.

In a recent feature story in the Idaho Statesman, Adams had nothing but good things to say about his time with Auburn:

“I LOVE AUBURN. I GOT MY UNDERGRAD DEGREE THERE. I LOVE THE PEOPLE THERE. THERE WERE JUST BETTER OPPORTUNITIES ELSEWHERE. AND ALL I WANTED TO DO WAS HELP A TEAM MORE AND PLAY MORE.”

If more playing time is what he wants, it sounds as if he’s in a good position to earn it with Boise State according to coach Bryan Harsin.

“I’m excited to see where Will Adams fits in,” Harsin said. “There’s a reason why he’s here. He wanted to come in here and play, be a part of this. (We’ll) see where he fits in the mix.”

The Broncos have an opening at one of their tackle positions, and it appears as though Adams could win the job with a strong spring.

According to Scott Huff, who serves as the Broncos offensive line coach, Adams is fitting right in.

“He’s been great, come in, fit in right away, been zero distractions, exactly what you want out of him,” Huff said. “We’ll see down the road here what he can bring to our offense in terms of playing O-line, where he fits in. It’s too early to tell right now, but so far, all good.”

The folks in Idaho asked Adams what he missed most about the South after making the move to the Northwest, and he gave the most Southern answer possible.

“There’s no sweet tea, which is weird. That’s hard to live without,” he said.

Adams played in all 13 games for Auburn in 2015, mostly on special teams and as a reserve on the line.
