Prestigious NIKE summer camp now up to 23 SEC commitments

There are 23 current SEC commitments pledged to NIKE’s The Opening camp and countless other realistic SEC top “targets” already invited. It is the nation’s most prestigious camp that takes place on the NIKE Campus in Beaverton (Ore.) the week following the 4th of July. In many ways, it even overshadows the national all-star games held around New Year’s Day, thanks to the fact that all the players will be here, as opposed to be split up among two or three different games.

The event generally has around 150 athletes in it from all around the country, and the SEC is always well represented. This camp/combine will begin with the Elite 11 quarterback portion on July 5 and the entire event will last six days. Portions of the event will be televised on ESPN.

Here are the 23 current SEC commitments who have already received invitations, and look for that number to jump up drastically over the next weeks as more and more of the uncommitted elite chose their schools. Alabama leads the SEC with six invitees.
