Four-star wide receiver Eric Lauderdale, once a Tennessee commitment, is down to two schools and he’s ready to announce where he’ll play this fall.

On Saturday, the four-star prospect will choose either Arizona State of Florida. Lauderdale is a 6-foot-2, 190-pound wide receiver out of Saddleback Junior College in California, but played his high school football in Georgia. He just returned from an official visit to Arizona State, and visited Florida in late November. He has said before that he’s intrigued by Florida’s new spread offense.

Only this week, he also dropped Oregon from his list of finalists.

Florida is in dire need of high-end wide receiver commitments now that Ermon Lane has floated away, and Lauderdale would get instant playing time. Keep in mind though, final visits (or most recent) are usually a strong indicator of where a prospect is leaning. That visit was to Arizona State, and he cancelled his Oregon visit after being in Arizona.

  1. If he goes to Florida he certainly won’t be playing for the coach who recruited him.

  2. Unfortunately I see ASU here for Lauderdale. The numbers are getting tight at UF and if the rumors are true that we got a big WR pickup, then there might not be any room at the inn. It’s a shame because this kid is an impact player….

    • I agree. I’m hearing the same thing. I heard we may have already told the kid we don’t have room. If JC Jackson holds and potentially another big name flips to UF, there won’t be room.
