Four-star LB considering Tennessee postpones decision

One of the more perplexing top 200 players out there is linebacker Darrin Kirkland. Since he’s sort of smack dab in the middle of a lot of good programs’ territories (in Indiana), he’s a tough one to figure out.

Today, he told that he needs more time than he previously thought and he will release an official top eight on Sunday. He had wanted to announce in May, but after landing offers from Nebraska and Texas recently, he’ll be evaluating some more. Tennessee is thought to be one of the top potential landing spots for the 6-foot-2, 230-pounder. Penn State, Michigan and Ohio State–not surprisingly–are some of the others. He also took an unofficial visit to Ole Miss earlier this month, and holds offers from Kentucky and Mississippi State.

Kirkland is the No. 2 prospect from the state of Indiana and is rated the No. 195 overall prospect in America.

Editor’s note: Saturday Down South’s references to ratings follow the composite rankings for high school prospects.
