Four-star linebacker prospect Jeffery Holland had planned to make his college announcement in early July at The Opening camp challenge in Oregon.
Only problem is, you have to be invited–and he hasn’t been. The invites usually go out during regional camps around the country. The southeast regional camp has passed through, so that process is likely done for Holland–who is rated one of the top 50 overall prospects in the nation by the 247Sports.com composite ranking.
So now the Jacksonville (Fla.) native is going to wait until national signing day instead. He’ll go from a July 2014 announcement to a Feb. 2015 announcement–giving his short list of schools plenty of time to work on him.
Right now, Florida and Auburn appear to be in the lead for Holland’s services. Alabama, Florida State, Ohio State and Texas have also offered, and UCLA and Ohio State were on campus just Thursday during the spring evaluation period.
