Ty’Son Williams is no longer a lean to his childhood favorite, Georgia. In fact, they may have unofficially gone their separate ways.
The four-star running back out of Sumter (S.C.) does have one SEC school firmly entrenched in his top five–and it shouldn’t be a surprise because it’s the closest school to his home. South Carolina is one of his five finalists, he told Scout.com on Wednesday. In-state Clemson, North Carolina, Notre Dame and Wisconsin also make the elite list. The 5-foot-11, 200-pound back will take some more time to check everything out.
Williams is the No. 3 overall prospect in South Carolina and would be a huge pickup for the Gamecocks. He has been on two unofficial visits to Columbia in the past month and was offered by South Carolina’s staff on Feb. 11.
