Fans–and coaching staffs, for that matter–from Auburn, Ole Miss and Tennessee will be paying very close attention to Eric Swinney on May 16.
The four-star RB told Scout.com that he will announce his college decision that day, and he spoke specifically about those three SEC schools. He is from Tyrone (Ga.), and in March did list Georgia as one of his favorites, but there is quite the logjam at his position and his activities this spring would indicate it likely comes down to the three SEC schools up above and not the Bulldogs.
He is a 5-foot-10, 190-pound running back out of Tyrone (Ga.)–and for the record, he and Auburn QB commit Tyler Queen go back and forth quite a bit on Twitter–but, also, he has visited Ole Miss twice in recent weeks.
Swinney announced his top schools at an Atlanta camp earlier this spring. He is rated No. 98 overall in the country, the No. 12 running back in the nation and Georgia’s No. 12 top overall prospect–not a bad resume. As a junior he rushed for 1,149 yards and 22 touchdowns for Sandy Creek HS. He also is a good receiver out of the backfield, catching just 11 passes but going 325 yards for 4 TDs.
