Natetreace Strong is a huge get for the Tigers, and it was made official today when he met with head coach Gary Pinkel to tell him the news in person.
Strong is a 6-foot-1, 210-pound out of talent-rich East St. Louis H.S. in Illinois. His prep teammate, five-star defensive end Terry Beckner, is the next target for the Tigers, and one can bet Pinkel will lean on Strong to work on Beckner every day–as they are prep teammates. Strong and Beckner are two of the … if not the two … best players in the state of Illinois. And they have younger teammates who could be impact players in the next few years.

Strong chose the Tigers over reported offers from Florida State, Ohio State, Michigan State and in-state Illinois, just to name a few. He’s ranked the No. 209 overall prospect in the nation.
Mizzou now has three four-star prospects on board, and the Tigers only have four commitments so far. Not too shabby, and they could have another four-star prospect on board by tomorrow night after in-state QB Drew Lock announces his school choice. He is a Mizzou legacy.
In February’s signing class (2014 class), the Tigers inked 28 players, and only three–Andy Bauer, Brandon Lee and Nate Brown–were four-star prospects.
