Chuma Edoga may not be a Frank Sinatra fan, but he sure is going to do things ‘my way’ tonight.
No hat dances, no television, no gimmicks … he’s going the route of the simple man. He’ll announce his final college decision with a simple Tweet tonight at 8 p.m. Eastern Time. And Georgia, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Stanford and Southern Call will be watching closely. The five-star rated Powder Springs (Ga.) offensive tackle has been on Georgia’s campus twice in the past two months, and he ventured to Southern Cal earlier this month. He announced Tennessee as his leader in early February, but his recent unofficial visits may indicate that things have changed a bit over the past two months.
“I talked to my coach about (how to announce it),” Edoga told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution over the weekend. “If I would’ve waited, I would probably commit at the Army All-America game. But I’m not waiting, so I decided to do in on Twitter. I don’t care about having all that type of attention (by doing it another way). I don’t think it’s necessary.”
Edoga is known for his incredible quickness, even while having a 6-foot-4, 275-pound frame. He’s a shrewd lineman with a ton of upside. Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi State and South Carolina also offered him a scholarship.
A few weeks ago, Edoga (rated nation’s No. 27 overall prospect) told Saturday Down South what he was looking for in a school.
“I’m hoping to see some of the academic aspect like the engineering program,” Edoga told SDS. “And (the coaches) really like my athleticism and ability to develop into a dominate left tackle.”
