Darius Slayton has a lot of options, but he didn’t want to string programs along so he made a cut on Thursday.
The 6-foot-2, 185-pound cornerback/wide receiver took a list of 23 scholarship offers and cut it to eight today. Six are SEC schools–Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, South Carolina and Tennessee. Ohio State and Clemson also made the cut.
”I didn’t want to go into the summer with all 23 schools or so in the balance, so I was ready to get it down to eight,” Slayton told Scout.com. “When I was looking to narrow it down to five, there was three or four schools I did not want to cut off yet.”
Slayton is rated a four-star prospect by 247Sports.com’s composite ranking, and a top 300 prospect nationally. Auburn is one school in particular that might be considered a leader at this point for the Norcross (Ga.) native.
