Late Wednesday, Texas A&M added a local kid to the fray–pushing the program into double-digits for the 2015 class.
Riley Garner is a 6-foot-3, 210-pound outside linebacker out of A&M Consolidated in … you guessed it … College Station (Texas). Garner also held scholarship offers from Arkansas, Colorado and Utah and several other in-state FBS schools. He was offered a scholarship by the Aggies on May 15 and it was almost a foregone conclusion he would stay home–even with Arkansas’ offer, which came this Tuesday.
“Committed (to) play football at Texas A&M University!! Gigem!,” Garner Tweeted from his account … which of course was followed by Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin’s patented coded reply Tweet “#YESSIR!”. Sumlin does that after every commitment. NCAA rules prohibit public comment by coaching staffs on college decisions, but Sumlin’s is vague enough not to be construed as any kind of violation.
With their 10th commitment of the 2015 class, the Aggies hold at No. 6 in the national rankings.
