This time period is really the class of 2014′s–the seniors’–time to shine, you know? At least when it comes to recruiting.

But juniors are allowed to attend the party too, and over the weekend Alabama quietly snuck in a new member to its already impressive 2015 class–amidst the dozens and dozens of new 2014 prospects who have committed in the past few days. The Crimson Tide are well on their way to competing for another mythical national title in recruiting in 2015.

Defensive tackle Jonathan Ledbetter became the fifth member of the Bama 2015 class on the same day it lost QB Ricky Town to Southern Cal. Ledbetter is a 6-foot-5, 265-pound prospect out of Tucker (Ga.). Ledbetter is currently a three-star prospect, but don’t be surprised if that changes soon. And he’ll join the other four Alabama ’15 commits: DE Mekhi Brown out of Georgia, RB Desherrius Flowers out of Mobile (Ala), DB Deionte Thompson out of Texas and OL Dallas Warmack out of Atlanta. So far, Brown is a five-star prospect and the others are four-star types. Brown, Flowers and Thompson are considered national top 100 players.

  • I know UGA can’t keep every kid in-state but they need to win some of these recruiting battles especially Offensive Lineman.

    • Saban’s strategy that started in ’08 of playing neutral site games in Atlanta against ACC opponents was a stoke of genius. He’s been steadily raking players in from Georgia since then. Bama’s ’14 OL recruits are already considered the best overall OL class in the nation. The rich just get richer. Maybe UGA needs to call President Obama and talk about some redistribution of wealth in the SEC……..ha, ha……..
