It’s not often–at least recently–that Arkansas has found itself within the national top 10 in recruiting.
That’s the case right now, as the Razorbacks have gotten off to a hot start for the class of 2015. While two SEC schools have zero commitments so far, and Florida only has one on board for 2015, the Razorbacks have gotten the early jumpstart on recruiting and already have the SEC’s top current QB commitment in the fold, as well as two other impressive in-staters. In all, four of the five players they have on board are ranked within the national top 250.
To contrast that, only two of the Razorbacks’ 2014 signees were high school top 250 players–and the class had 24 signees. In 2013, only three of Arkansas’s eye-popping number of 32 recruits were top 250 prep players.
Quarterback Ty Storey is one gem, as is one of Bielema’s big targets from his Big Ten days at Wisconsin–DT Hjalte Froholdt, a Danish exchange student who has actually been out of the country during much of his recruitment, but expects to be playing in Ohio this fall when his family moves back to the United States.
“It has the potential to be very special because of how we started off early,” Storey told Saturday Down South. “There’s a lot of talent in the state of Arkansas, for the 2015 class, and a lot of big-time recruits are showing a lot of interest. Coach B (Bret Bielema) is a player’s coach. I’ve heard many stories about him helping his players even after they’re done playing for him. He’s very confident and that carries over to his players. He is a guy I want to play for and win for. I have all the confidence in him and I know he’ll put us in the best position to win.”
Below is a list of the current Arkansas recruits.
