The Randy Shannon effect is in full force at Arkansas.
The Arkansas assistant coach and former Miami head coach has camped out in south Florida the past couple of weeks, figuratively speaking (and in some cases, literally). On Wednesday, Shannon and the Razorbacks plunked a big-time athlete away from national champion Florida State in four-star prospect JoJo Robinson. Robinson is rated the third-best prospect for Arkansas by the 247Sports.com composite rating.
In the past month, Shannon has brought in five new commitments from south Florida, with Robinson obviously being the top one. Many are sleeper three-star prospects from inner-city Miami–known to be a football talent hotbed. WR Kendrick Edwards is from Miami Norland, WR Cornelius Floyd is from Miami Gulliver Prep, DB Randy Ramsey is from Fort Lauderdale Dillard and DE Anthony Brown is from Miami Killian. Speed will not be an issue with this crop of south Florida prospects. Robinson is from south Florida powerhouse Miami Northwestern.
