Texas A&M, Alabama, LSU … even Arkansas and Mississippi State–they’ve all been impressive so far with their 2015 recruiting classes.
But don’t you dare forget the program that played in the national championship game two months ago. Don’t forget what kind of impression Auburn can make on a recruit.
Montavious Atkinson is one of those recruits who has been impressed with the Tigers. The Fairburn (Ga.) linebacker took unofficial visits to Auburn in the summer and fall of 2013, and in mid February he finally received an offer from the school. While recruiting services have him in the three-star range, the Auburn staff sees something special in the three-star prospect from Georgia.
“They actually see potential in me and my attitude has always been, towards the rankings, is that as long as I do what I have to do, somebody will find me and it turned out well in the end,” Atkinson told Saturday Down South after he committed on Sunday
Atkinson was right. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound inside linebacker seems ready to make an impact in the SEC.
“Getting to play for a team like Auburn has to be the best feeling right now, just from watching them on TV and the style they play,” Atkinson told SDS. “It has to do a with a lot of passion that they’ve got to win. It’s unbelievable and they like my aggressiveness and the speed I have. And the way I’m around the ball all the time.”
Atkinson is Auburn’s fifth class of 2015 commitment and the class is now ranked No. 17 nationally.
