This is one heck of a pace Auburn is setting.
The newest addition Wednesday morning was four-star linebacker Darrell Williams, who was one of those classic Auburn-Alabama recruiting battles. Williams is out of storied Hoover H.S. in Birmingham. He is a 6-foot-3, 205 pounder who also had offers from Tennessee, Florida State, Mississippi State and others.
Williams officially announced his decision via Twitter around 10 a.m. ET. He will likely play outside linebacker in college, but he can play inside too.
“I’ve tried to work on getting quicker in the open space and open field and I tried to work on playing in the interior-wise because people are looking at me at that and my coach said I might have to play more inside this year,” Williams told AL.com recently.
Auburn now has 13 commitments for the 2014 class and is rated the No. 3 class in the nation overall behind Alabama and Penn State.
