‘Bama, Ole Miss, Auburn and Vandy make four-star’s top five

NCAA Football: Mississippi at Vanderbilt

Four-star linebacker Joshua McMillon said Thursday that he has a tough top five at this point, with no clear leader. Fans at Alabama, Ole Miss, Auburn and Vandy will be happy to know their teams made the cut. Michigan is the fifth school to make the cut.

Tennessee has offered McMillon, who hails from Memphis (Tenn.), but they didn’t even make his top 10 when he announced it back on June 1. He has been frequently in contact with Alabama and has said before he likes their staff immensely. Ole Miss may be another school to keep an eye on here.

“I’m undecided exactly when, but I’m thinking early commitment. Maybe around August or September,” McMillon told 247Sports.com.

McMillon is rated the No. 7 prospect in Tennessee and No. 215 overall in the country. He’s 6-foot-3, 250 pounds and instinctively knows how to make the big stop.

Editor’s note: Saturday Down South’s references to ratings follow the 247Sports.com composite rankings.

Remember they Red-shirt Miss America’s at Ole Miss … Great school, great fans, great football, great traditions, great coaches and so close to home.

Win The Day! FINS UP Landsharks!

  • Ole Miss has missed on several blue chip LBs the last couple of years. It seems like Ole Miss hasn’t recruited the LB position as well as the rest of positions. Ole Miss needs to bring in one or two really good LBs this year or next year. I know Ole Miss is still going after Leo Lewis hard and has a good chance at McMillon.

  • I can’t wait to see who who McMillon chooses, would be great to see him at Tennessee though! Overall I can’t wait for the season to start!
