It’s official, four-star lineman Tyler Carr did what most people expected he’d do all along–he picked Auburn.
Carr is a 6-foot-5, 310-pound prospect out of Gadsden (Ala.) who had a reputation around the southeast of being a very strong run blocker. He’s rated the No. 225 overall prospect in America—and he had options. Alabama was obviously another big contender for the in-state product.
He’s SEC born and bred.
“I’m from Alabama and we never really had professional ball to get excited about, you only grew up watching college football,” Carr told Saturday Down South in a recent interview. “If you make it to the college level it’s just like making it to the pros for other people. No one really cares much about the (Atlanta) Falcons around here. I mean, that’s just the way it is. It’s Auburn and it’s Alabama.”
Carr is Auburn’s 16th commitment for 2015. Auburn fans will now turn their attention to tonight’s announcement by TE Jalen Harris, who is seriously considering the Tigers, but also Alabama.
