Notre Dame has been eliminated and its down to two SEC schools for one of the nation’s top remaining linemen--Matt Elam (not to be confused with the former Florida Gator player)
It’s simple: Elam will either stay in his home state of Kentucky and give Mark Stoops a tremendous recruiting victory, or Alabama will once again go into an SEC team’s backyard and steal its best homegrown talent. Elam announced on Twitter that it’s down to just those two–the Wildcats and Crimson Tide. He will announce the final decision on live television on Saturday, Jan. 4 during the U.S. Army All-American Game in San Antonio.
“My Final Two College Choices Alabama And UK !! Hats Will Be On The Table !! Which One Will I Choose ?? #BBN #Bama,” Elam tweeted on Thursday evening.
Elam told 247Sports.com that he didn’t feel he should string Notre Dame along any further, because he had no intention of going there.
This one will be interesting. Kentucky has its best recruiting class in at least a decade or so, and Alabama is … well … Alabama.
