Five-star DL Carter now down to four–Bama not in it

Lorenzo Carter–clearly one of the nation’s top remaining prospects–has narrowed things down, he said this weekend at the Under Armour Game. And his final official visit destination in January might be a hint.

He told several reporters on site that he has a final four now: Georgia, LSU, Florida and Florida State. Alabama is no longer in the picture. The Gators, once a leader for his services, received an official visit from Carter during the fall season, while LSU, Florida State and Georgia will get successive visits in the second half of January. The Bulldogs get that vital final visit on Jan. 31–many times an indication of the team that may hold a slight edge for a player’s services. National signing day is on Feb. 6–and that is when Carter is planning to announce his final choice.

Carter is a 6-foot-5, 235-pound defensive end with 4.6-second speed in the 40-yard dash. He is from Norcross (Ga.).

  1. Would likely see play time at UGA quickly. UGA is reloading and he would be be a good fit. Fresh offense and not fully back from sending many to NFL last year on defense. 2 years UGA leads SEC East (tons of exposure). Hope he picks UGA!!!

  2. Come to LSU!

  3. Alvin Kamara, Georgia says “thank you.”
