Nation’s top inside linebacker doesn’t choose SEC

Raekwon McMillan had said previously that distance from home wasn’t an issue, as long as the program he was heading to was worth it. Then again, he also said it would be tough to leave his family behind–especially his two younger brothers.

Apparently the distance really wasn’t an issue for the nation’s No. 1 rated inside linebacker, as he put on an Ohio State ballcap at his announcement Tuesday, bypassing the ones from Alabama, Auburn and Georgia, along with Clemson.

McMillan is a Georgia native. He is 6-foot-3, 235 pounds and plays for Liberty County H.S. Alabama and Ohio State were considered the top options, but he didn’t drop any solid hints–and his family said they wouldn’t learn the choice until the announcement, just like the rest of the country.

  1. Your bias is showing. Perhaps he is choosing OSU for the educational opportunities. In addition to playing with an excellent football team.
