Florida Gators National Signing Day Recap

 Florida Gators

      • SEC TEAM RANK: No. 6
      • NATIONAL TEAM RANK: No. 8
      • LAST YEAR’S FINISH: No. 2 (SEC); No. 3 (nation).
      • NO. 1 CURRENT RECRUIT: DB Jalen Tabor (No. 14 in nation).
      • SDS ‘SLEEPER’ STAR: Duke Dawson is actually a 4-star prospect, but he’s just too good a kid to pass up here. He’ll flourish at Florida, and he’s an upbeat leader (and a great quote!).
      • SUM THE DAY UP: The past 24 hours have been very, very good to Florida—even if the Gators didn’t get Adoree Jackson and Damian Prince. For Gators fans, they have to be saying ‘well, if we didn’t get Jackson and Prince, at least they didn’t go to another SEC school’. On the other hand, the Gators got some outstanding skill talent in Treon Harris, C.J. Worton and retaining wavering J.C. Jackson, while lineman Andrew Mike is huge. Florida moved up the charts a bit today.
      • OVERALL: This has been a rocky recruiting year, thanks to Florida having its worst season since the 1970s. It lost several recruits, but down the stretch it added some excellent ones too—like Jalen Tabor, Thomas Holley and Gerald Willis. It’s a class that is solidly in the national top 10, and a lot of these guys are going to need to contribute immediately.

Editor’s note: All team and individual ratings referenced by Saturday Down South are according to 247Sports.com’s composite ranking, which averages all services. Team rankings are as of 5 p.m. Wednesday.
