Jalen Christian is done with recruiting, and if the activity around his school in recent weeks is any indication, he’ll likely be playing in the SEC next year.
While he’s the No. 3-ranked player in Maryland, it appears he’ll be leaving ACC country and coming to South Carolina. Christian is a do-everything style cornerback/wide receiver who runs the 40-yard dash around 4.5 seconds. His finalists include the Gamecocks, Kentucky, Maryland, Wisconsin and West Virginia. He has said repeatedly he’d like to play offense.
The activity around campus has been two on-campus visits by two different South Carolina coaches–G.A. Mangus and Steve Spurrier Jr.–in just the past two weeks.
Christian (5-10/165) is rated a four-star prospect and the No. 145 prospect in America. He had 610 receiving yards last year at Damascus High School in Maryland. He’ll go public with his decision at 2 p.m. today.
