This is a tough one to figure out … Jauan Jennings is going to probably keep people guessing for a few weeks.
Jennings is a four-star “athlete” prospect who can play quarterback or safety–and do both equally well. With quarterbacks beginning to commit, it makes one wonder if that may be the reason he’s going to go official and announce on the morning of April 7th. He wants to play quarterback, while many programs seem him as a monster DB at the next level.
Tennessee needs an elite quarterback in this class (badly), and frankly–so does Alabama. Both have been drooling over some of the nation’s top QB prospects, but neither has landed one yet for 2015 and none of the top ones seem like absolute locks at this point. Jennings (6-4/185) is from Murfreesboro (Tenn.), but that doesn’t necessarily guarantee he’ll play for the Vols. Alabama’s also seriously in the mix, and Mississippi State and Auburn are also being considered, along with Ohio State and Northwestern.
Stay tuned, this could get interesting.
