The recruiting routine at Georgia is pretty simple–most of the offers come from the head coach himself. And once Mark Richt has offered you … and you decide to commit … he’d like to hear from you.
Well, Quincy Vasser is square with the man now, he told Saturday Down South early this afternoon after getting off the phone with the Georgia head coach. He was offered a scholarship last week, he accepted it almost immediately, and now he has talked to Richt and said he’s clear to come aboard in all facets. Vasser is 6-foot-4, 260 pounds and plays his junior college football Navarro College in Corsicana (Texas). He is originally from New York state and played one year of prep school ball at Hargrave Military Academy.
“I just got off the phone with Coach Richt and yeah, you can get it out there for me,” Vasser told SDS. “It was good to finally get it over with and they’re excited to get me out there. They said they wouldn’t recruit a JUCO player to have me sit on the bench. It wouldn’t make sense. They’re excited to get me there in January.”
Vasser was rated a three-star prospect in the past few days and also just received an offer from Texas earlier this week. He also holds an offer from Maryland.
