Lorenzo Carter has been a recruiting journey unto himself.
There were days when Alabama looked like his future home, or Florida, or Florida State. But ultimately, it was hard to see him leaving his home state. The Norcross (Ga.) defensive end product is rated a five-star prospect and the No. 18 player in the country overall. When he announced his school choice of Georgia, the home town crowd went nuts.
“I’ll be spending the next four years of my life at the University of Georgia,” Carter said during his announcement. “I decided to stay home and represent my state and hopefully bring a national title home to Georgia. Coach (Mark) Richt did a great job. That defense is going to be nasty and I want to be a big part of it.”
Carter has good speed and is 6-foot-5, 235 pounds. He has a lot of room to put good weight on. He is Georgia’s top prospect according to the 247Sports.com composite ranking.
