While Alabama, Auburn, Mississippi State and Kentucky have made a ton of recruiting headlines in recent weeks, Georgia has been relatively quiet for a few months.
That won’t last for long, considering the Bulldogs’ targets still out there–many of whom are in-state leans. That includes Trent Thompson, the defensive lineman who continues to hold the top spot in the national rankings. When interviewed by Saturday Down South, he didn’t deny his serious interest in Georgia, even with nearby powers Alabama and Auburn breathing down his neck. He’ll be a gem should Georgia close the deal, and he’d be just one of many.
The most recent pickup for the Bulldogs was a tricky one. Junior college transfer Quincy Vasser committed to the ‘Dawgs in mid April, only to hear soon after that a few things had to be cleared up before Mark Richt would accept his commitment. But the good news for Georgia fans and Vasser is that it was all cleared up no problem and he is on board–the seventh commitment of the 2015 class. Georgia stands at No. 20 in the national rankings, currently.
“Honestly, it’ll be amazing (playing at Georgia on Saturdays),” Vasser told Saturday Down South right after committing. “That’s what every kid dreams about growing up, playing in front of thousands. The big crowds on the road won’t affect me. I’m there for one purpose and that’s to get Ws with my teammates.”
Continue to stay tuned, recruiting will warm up considerably in Athens.
