Mississippi’s No. 1 player Peters names top five, ‘Bama tops list

NCAA Football: SEC Championship-Alabama vs Georgia

Mississippi’s top prospect Tweeted out a top five late Tuesday, and Alabama surprisingly tops the list–beating out previous leader Mississippi State for the top billing.

Jamal Peters is a 6-foot-3, 200-pound prospect out of Bassfield (Miss.). He’s a high end four-star prospect who is rated the No. 47 overall prospect in America and the No. 3 safety prospect nationally. The Bulldogs are second for his services, while Ole Miss is fourth and LSU is fifth. National champion Florida State is at No. 3, according to his Tweet.

“Coaches love my speed, athleticism and being aggressive,” Peters told Saturday Down South in a recent interview.

He’s not lying. Peters is an elite safety who can hit like a truck. He’s big, he’s quick and he has a knack for the big play. Look for him to dominate at the next level, no matter where he goes. In his previous list, his top 10, Florida and Texas A&M had made the cut. They’ve apparently been eliminated. Peters has said before that he wants to take several official visits in the fall before he makes his final decision on a school.

  • Reality, NO seriously “GREAT” baller EVER chooses MisStake over the Ole miss REBELS. I guess we’ll have to wait to see if the young man is just good or “GREAT”.
