Kentucky beats Oklahoma for DB; M. Stoops over B. Stoops

This is definitely a feather in Mark Stoops’ cap.

Kendall Randolph, a safety out Lincoln H.S. in Tallahassee (Fla.), chose Kentucky over Oklahoma Tuesday. That’s a nice get considering the Wildcats had to beat Oklahoma to do it. Mark Stoops beats out brother Bobby Stoops for a recruit. Kentucky over Oklahoma for a football recruit doesn’t happen every day.

“It’s official. I’m verbally committed to the University of Kentucky,” says Randolph (5-11/170) Tweeted on Tuesday.

Randolph is a three-star prospect and claimed scholarship offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee and Vanderbilt. Before Charlie Strong left Louisville for Texas, he seemed to be leaning the Cardinals’ way, but it quickly changed after that. He will take an official visit to the school this weekend.

Kentucky continues to build easily its best class in recent memory. The Wildcats’ recruiting class is now ranked No. 21 in the nation.
