One of the best players out of Maryland and one of the top athletes out of Washington D.C.–not a bad weekend roundup for Kentucky football.
The Wildcats moved up six spots in the national recruiting rankings over the weekend when they landed Maryland native Darius Fullwood and Washington D.C.’s Jabari Greenwood. Both had scheduled announcements this weekend and gave the ‘Cats a thumbs up. Fullwood is out of well-respected prep program Our Lady of Good Counsel, while Greenwood is out of equally respected Gonzaga. Both had multiple options. Fullwood is slightly higher rated than Greenwood. He’s a 6-foot-4, 240-pound defensive end who also reported scholarship offers from Alabama, Florida State, Penn State and Tennessee. He also seriously considered Virginia Tech.
Greenwood is a 6-foot-4, 195-pound wide receiver who also had Michigan State hot on his trail.
Want to know how far Kentucky has come in recruiting? How about beating Big Ten powers and closer-to-home juggernauts for recruits? That’s how far this program has come. The Wildcats now have the No. 20 overall rated recruiting class in America. Fullwood comes in as the No. 4 overall rated recruit in Kentucky’s class behind four-star LB Eli Brown and four-star TE C.J. Conrad. Three-star WR Alex Stump also rates ahead by a hair. Kentucky now has 12 commitments.
