A receiver named Keyshawn Johnson has a scholarship offer to play football at Rocky Top.
Say what? Are we having flashbacks to a couple of decades ago? No, Keyshawn Johnson Jr., son of the well-known NFL wide receiver of years past, is a class of 2017 wide receiver who is gaining recruiting steam already. He is 6-foot-1, 180 pounds and out of Mission Viejo (Calif.).
Tennessee is his first scholarship offer out of the SEC, coming just three weeks ago, and of course his father starred at USC and one would think an offer from the Trojans could put an end to his recruitment–but hey, the Vols at least have his attention. Also offering so far are Florida State, Clemson, Miami, Ohio State and UCLA, just to name a few. It may be a long time before any commitment comes, but he’ll be a big name to watch.
He was in the southeast last week visiting Clemson, but apparently did not swing by any SEC schools.
