Lineman names LSU his leader, Ole Miss the close runner up

Zach Giella is from Augusta (Ga.)–home of the Masters Golf Tournament and basically on the state border between Georgia and South Carolina.

Yet it looks more and more like he won’t be heading to either one of those SEC schools, even though the Gamecocks were once high on his list. He told this week that LSU is his clear leader and Ole Miss is right behind the Tigers. He was on Ole Miss’ campus recently. He also took a visit to Mississippi State this past week and reports offers from Kentucky, Missouri and several non-SEC schools within the FBS, and he just landed an offer from O-line factory Michigan.

Giella is a three-star, 6-foot-6, 285-pound offensive tackle out of Augusta Christian. He was just offered a chance to play in the Semper Fi All-American Bowl, also.

Editor’s note: Saturday Down South’s references to ratings follow the composite rankings for high school prospects.
