So far, Mississippi State dominating in-state recruiting

Today, the popular recruiting website released a state ranking for Mississippi, and it gives a good representation of the job Mississippi State’s staff has done this year.

The Bulldogs have four of the top 10 prospects in the state, according to the website. And what about the other six, you might ask? They haven’t chosen a school yet.

So yes, none of the top 10 prospects in Mississippi have chosen Ole Miss … yet. Of course, it is early. Also, out of the top 20, Mississippi State has six of the top 20 and Ole Miss has only one: No. 12 Willie Hibbler. The Bulldogs have been poked at a bit for having a national leading nine commitments on board already, sort of a “quantity doesn’t beat quality” argument by some people. But when it comes to securing in-state talent, which is vital in this particular state, Mississippi State is doing a pretty fine job.
