Mom’s mad again–second son skips in-state LSU, Willis picks Gator

First it was Landon Collins picking Alabama over LSU … and today it was Gerald Willis choosing Florida over LSU.

Mom just can’t win, it seems.

April Justin, the mother of both Collins and Willis, didn’t look happy with either one of their decisions on national television at the Under Armour Game–Collins in Jan. 2012 and Willis today. But apparently they weren’t too worried about mom’s feelings, as they both decided to leave their home town of New Orleans to play at the school of their choice. Both Alabama and Florida play LSU every year.

Willis, a five-star defensive tackle, was thought to be an LSU lean coming into the game, but when prep teammate Speedy Noil picked Texas A&M earlier in the telecast, it seemed there might be an opening for another school. That school would be Florida, as he did the Gator chomp and showed the Florida logo on his gloves.

Mom’s response?: “It is what is is. LSU is still number one.”

For the record, Willis and Justin didn’t look at each other during the announcement.
