There’s nothing better than what’s on Kerryon Johnson’s plate for Tuesday. He has a heaping southern helping of Bama and Auburn with a healthy scoop of Florida State on the side.
How about that? The last three teams to win national titles–in fact, the ones that account for the last five titles combined–make up his list of three finalists for a college choice that will come shortly after 3 p.m. Eastern Time on Tuesday. The announcement will come at his school in Madison (Ala.). He is 6-foot-0, 200 pounds out of Madison Academy.
Johnson is the nation’s No. 2 ranked “athlete”, the category that describes a versatile star who could change games at several positions. That makes one think the ‘Tide and Tigers are probably in better position to land him than the Seminoles. But then again, Jameis Winston had no problem leaving the state of Alabama for FSU.
Johnson Tweeted these intentions over the weekend, saying he’d like to get it over with on Tuesday. Worthy of note, his last unofficial visit was to Florida State last weekend, while he also checked out Auburn the weekend before that in late March. He was Alabama’s campus the weekend of March 15th.
Johnson is rated the No. 37 overall prospect in America, and the second-best one in the state of Alabama. He’s a huge target for all three powerhouses. He will play in the 2015 U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
