Last year, it was D’haquille Williams.
This year … it could very well be Auburn winning the game again. The best player in the land–in the JUCO ranks–is RB Jovon Robinson. He’s no stranger to Auburn. He committed and signed with the Tigers in 2012 and actually practiced with the Tigers but had to go the JUCO route to get things squared away academically and he has re-emerged as the nation’s top rusher at the junior college level in 2013.
On Wednesday, he visited Auburn’s campus and received his official scholarship offer. Now, Alabama can start to shudder … he might be a Tiger again.
Robinson rushed for a JUCO single-season record 2,387 yards and 34 touchdowns for Georgia Military College, and now he has all the top SEC powers salivating. Robinson has also been quoted before saying he wouldn’t necessarily mind going to Alabama and playing against Auburn. Apparently one of his high school grades was changed by a counselor, and that’s what led the NCAA to force him to go another route first.
Williams was the No. 1 JUCO signee in the nation for the 2014 class, and is expected to be a huge contributor for the Tigers this fall.
