Record-breaking LSU commit sees career come to close

If it seems like we’ve mentioned Trey Quinn’s receiving numbers each week, well … that’s because we have.

The LSU-bound wide receiver is the nation’s all-time leading career receiver. He passed current Mizzou WR Dorial Green-Beckham a few weeks back. On Friday, Quinn’s Barbe H.S. team dropped its playoff game in Louisiana, ending his four-year career. He had 109 yards receiving and two touchdowns in the loss.

He finished the season with 1,967 yards receiving and 23 touchdowns. He finished his career with 6,566 receiving yards, beating Green-Beckham’s mark by more than 200 yards. He also broke the Louisiana state record with 357 career receptions, besting a record that had stood for 17 years by Abram Booty of Evangel Christian, who also initially signed with LSU. Quinn will go down as No. 3 in the national all-time for career receptions.

  1. Whoa! When I read the title of this article, I thought the guy had a life changing injury or something. Turns out he’s just done playing high school football… That’s a relief.

    • Sorry about that, Ryan. I guess I could have tempered that down a bit, I can see what you mean. Nope, nothing wrong with Trey at all. Just talked to him last week. He can’t wait to get going at LSU.
